NEWS - 18th January 2018 - Year One visit Tamworth Castle

A good time was had by all and year one pupils continued to learn about castles and their role in history.

NEWS - 17th January 2018 - Mrs Tunney received Pivotal Instructor Badge

A huge well done to Mrs Tunney who is our lead for all things pastoral within the school (behaviour, attendance, SENDCo etc).  She has worked very hard to become a qualified Pivotal Instructor which means that she now has a deep understanding of the psychological causes of behaviour and how best to manage them.  The picture below shows her being presented with her instructor badge.

Our school council really enjoyed meeting with Inspector Hunt last Friday.  A chance to talk about the local community and to ask and answer question.

Mrs Birchall is our new teacher in Jaguar Class.  We welcome her to the team.  

NEWS - 3rd January 2018 - Staff training day

Today our staff have been very busy preparing for the start of the new term tomorrow.  We spent the afternoon with a maths specialist teaching us all about 'bar modelling'.  We can't wait to share this with the children.

NEWS - 23rd November 2017 - Civic Awareness Scheme comes to Osmaston

Today our school council met with representatives of the Civic Awareness Project to discuss their concerns and ideas about the local neighbourhood.  Our visitors were Mr Jonathan Till from Derby Homes and Cllr Joanna West.

NEWS - 20th November 2017 - This week's assembly theme

This week our assembly theme has been about how to stop bullying.  Pupils have learned all about McGruff the Crime Dog and his advice to "stop, talk and walk".  You can see the video of McGruff the Crime Dog below.

NEWS - 16th November 2017 - Author opens our revamped library

Our revamped library is looking amazing, but, more importantly, it is full of new books.  We were very lucky that the library was officially (re)opened by children's author Nicholas Allan.  You can see a picture below of Mr Allan opening the library and of our wonderful school councillors/library monitors who have helped to get the library ready.
